Delivering Critical Care When Every Second Counts.

The Southern Alleghenies is at the forefront of emergency innovation with Drone814— a groundbreaking US Department of Transportation-sponsored pilot program that delivers life-saving medical supplies like EPIPENS, AEDs, and Narcan while first responders are en route. FAA-regulated and free to the public, these drones are here to save lives, bringing faster emergency response to the people who need it most.

What is Drone814?

Drone814 is a first-of-its-kind pilot project using drones to deliver life-saving medical supplies like AEDs, EPIPENS, and Narcan to emergencies— while first responders are en route. This FAA-regulated service is designed to improve survival rates from cardiac arrest, opioid overdoses, and severe allergic reactions, especially in rural and hard-to-reach communities.

Faster Response Times

Drones can deliver critical medical supplies in minutes—often faster than traditional emergency vehicles, especially in rural or hard-to-reach areas.

Supports First Responders

Drone814 is designed to complement, not replace, EMS teams by giving them a head start with the tools they need on scene.

Safe, Regulated, and No Personal Data collected

All flights follow strict FAA guidelines and local emergency protocols, with no personal data collection.

Free to All Residents

This service is provided at no cost to the public—no one will ever be charged for receiving life-saving medical deliveries from Drone814.

Built for Our Community

Drone814 helps close critical healthcare gaps in rural areas by reaching areas with long ambulance wait times and limited medical resources.

This will allow life-saving medicine and devices to be delivered to people in need even before EMS can arrive … We are looking to this area, this region, to really serve as a model here in Pennsylvania … that other places across the country can learn from these projects about drug delivery and medical services.”
